Here is a list of some of the more common questions that we get asked about Aille River Tourist Hostel, Doolin and County Clare. If you can't find what you're looking for, send us an e-mail and we'll be happy to help!
What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 5 days before arrival. After that time, full payment is charged.
Can wedding guests stay at the Hostel?
We do not accept wedding guests at the Hostel.
What are your check-in times?
Check-in is from 3 pm until 8 pm.
Are pets allowed in the Hostel?
Pets are not allowed in the Hostel or our Tipi Tent.
Can I book a group on the website?
Groups larger than 5 people have to send us an email before making a reservation to stay@ailleriverhosteldoolin.ie
Is there a curfew at the Hostel?
Yes, every night from 1 am.
Is linen included in the price?
Of course. The beds are already made when guests arrive. You only have to put the pillow cover on the pillow.
How far is the Aille River Tourist Hostel from the bus stop?
Very close, about 50 metres.
If you tell the bus drivers (from Ennis or Galway) that you are staying at the Aille River Tourist Hostel, they will drop you at the crossroad across the river from us, outside a pub called Fitz's. The name of the bus stop is ''Hotel Doolin''. From there you can see the Hostel across the bridge.
Where is the nearest bank or cash point?
There is an ATM at O'Connor's Pub in Doolin and also at the Aran View Petrol station in Doolin. There is also an ATM at the Cliffs of Moher visitor's centre 11km, and two banks in Ennistymon 13km from the Hostel.
How do I get to the Cliffs of Moher?
There are a few options, the best of which is a lovely hike along the Doolin Cliff Trail from Doolin to the visitor's centre.
Staff can give you details about this walk.
You can also drive there or take the bus.
Where can I hire a bike?
We recommend Doolin Rent-a-bike doolinrentabike.ie. Ask staff for more details.
What is the maximum length of stay at the Hostel?
The maximum length of stay is 5 nights.
How far to the music and the pubs?
There is music in all pubs each evening - the furthest one is a 10-minute walk from the Hostel.
How far away is the Burren?
Doolin is in the southwest corner of the Burren, which can be easily reached on foot (10 mins), by bicycle, or by car if you wish to go further afield.
Where can I buy food to cook in the Hostel?
There is a local shop just up the hill.
There are also food shops in Lisdoonvarna and Lahinch, and 2 supermarkets and a Health food shop in Ennistymon.
Or you could buy our breakfast!
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we do.
Is breakfast included in the price of the room?
No, but you can prepare your own breakfast in our fully equipped self-catering kitchen!
We also have a breakfast selection available on request for a small fee.
Do you have a car park?
Yes, we have our own private car park at the back of the Hostel.
